Much has been written on the mysterious "ghost" lights of Marfa. One of the better web sites attempting to analyze the
phenomenon is nightorbs.net . A great source for eyewitness accounts is Judith M. Brueske's, Ph. D  The Marfa Lights.

On May 15th, my wife and I were on Casa Piedra Rd (169), near the blinking red telephone tower, facing west.
A bright white light approached us then vanished. We thought it might be a car coming from the west traveling east
on 169. This happened a second time. I started to suspect this was not a car, because as before,
no vehicle ever went by us. The third time this occurred, the lights appeared in pairs, moving slightly towards and
apart from eachother, then disappeared. We both were convinced at this point that these lights were not the headlights
of cars or trucks. They were the Marfa lights, and we had just witnessed our closest encounter with them to date.
I would guess that they were about a half mile away.
